Mutemath supported twenty one pilots on the Emotional Roadshow world tour's summer 2016 leg. , Meany was then included in Trench's production following the tour's conclusion.
Meany continued to spill details on his role with the album on Instagram live, using some choice analogies to explain the creative process that went into the album.
"The first song we worked on was 'Jumpsuit.' and then what turned into three songs, then four, then five,â Meany says. "Tyler finally called me in the spring of last year and was like, 'Man, let's just do all 14 like this.' I was elated. I was so excited."
